h3D Space (Head Space) was the umbrella moniker for the 2013 VIA Festival's live visual environment that spanned Friday & Saturday main events. Arguably VIA’s most ambitious and all-encompassing visual arts project to date, h3D Space was a combination of curated, live, and crowd-sourced imagery with virtual appearances from artist-avatars. Each night approaches CGI video content and IRL/virtual “presence” from a different angle and expresses a fascination with the tension between hi-gloss spectacles and the inherent imperfections in 3D technology.
FRIDAY THEME: GREEN ROOM
Showcasing virtual characters, figures, faces, avatars and audience members themselves in a playful exploration of narcissism, pseudo-celebrity, and remixing the body. Get a 3D scan of your face on-site with Tech Shop that will be incorporated into the mix. These were also available for download.
SATURDAY NIGHT: BLUE PRINT
Delving deep into the world of virtual environments, objects, and 3D architectural scans. Get your iphone, keychain, e-cig ready to scan with Tech Shop to add objects to the mix (also available after the festival for download).
